Buried on page 3 of Google, losing customers to national chains that appeared ahead of them in local search.

A simple search for 'MOT Doncaster' or 'car service Doncaster' placed Clarke's on page three or beyond — effectively invisible to the majority of potential customers who never scroll past the first few results. The Google Business Profile was outdated, had minimal reviews, and wasn't fully optimised. The website had no local SEO structure, missing title tags, thin location content, and zero backlink profile from local sources.

The business was also losing out specifically on high-intent, time-sensitive searches — someone searching 'emergency car repair Doncaster' or 'same-day MOT Doncaster' is ready to spend money right now. Every day those searches were going to competitors was a direct revenue loss. Our Approach

We fully optimised their Google Business Profile, built location-specific content, and executed a local link-building campaign.

We approached Clarke's Local SEO as a three-layer project: technical foundation, content authority, and profile optimisation. Starting with the Google Business Profile, we rebuilt it from scratch — updated categories, added services with individual descriptions, loaded a full image library, enabled booking and call features, and implemented a weekly posting schedule to signal activity to Google's local ranking algorithm.

We then restructured the website with dedicated service landing pages for MOT testing, car servicing, diagnostics, tyres, and brakes — each with unique location-optimised content targeting Doncaster and surrounding areas. We also built a local link-acquisition strategy, earning citations and mentions from Doncaster community sites, local business directories, and automotive trade bodies.
